Chris Martin

Picture
This is my favorite artist, Chris Martin. He is the singer of my favorite band called Coldplay. What I decided to do in this work of art is create a portrait with Chris Martin face. This portrait was not only a common drawing but I decorated and also included my favorite lyrics of the band to make up the representation.  The materials I used for this work of art was only many different type of black markers with different ends to make the drawing with more shades and contrasts.
I think this was one of my favorite project through the year. I really enjoy creating this portrait. A portrait basically in my personal opinion is a graphical way to represent a person or a thing but in this style I think I learned to capture more than that. It is project where you can see all the lyrics from my favorite songs surrounding the picture which expands the meaning of this theme. Characterizing more the picture.

My friend, the clown

Picture
This second project I worked was made with a canvas and acrylics. I had to choose an specific color to work with and from the main color do the specific shades to make the project more realistic and in some way three dimensional. My inspiration was my best friend. I decided to paint my best friend as a clown because that is what she represents. She brings me happy moments in my life. I transformed photography to a painting, and made it in black and white.

I also enjoyed working on this project. It was a great learning experience to become skilled at using for my first time a canvas. Working with shadows can sometimes be really complex and it became sometimes hard for me to do it. I loved this experienced because I learned how to work with new materials. Also what became a little hard for me was to make the exact proportion on the canvas of the face. But at the end I really enjoyed working on this project.

Reality vs Imagination

Picture
My third project objective was to use a real photography taken from a magazine and combine it with unrealistic elements invented by myself. I used vivid colors to make the dress and as inspiration of fashion and nature I decided to include also a tree that can symbolize harmony with natural elements.  In addition I also included creative and abstract figures at the background to symbolize individuality of the model.

I also really enjoyed working on this project, not only because of the objective of transforming something real into something unreal. But what I enjoyed the most is changing the themes of the drawing. And by this I mean the drawing doesn’t have only one message but many. Like how can perfection be imperfection, because of the models reality. In addition  the relationship between the drawing and the environment, all made with recycled materials. My inspiration for this picture was modeling and the environment… and I think a learned how to translate this message.
